July 15, 2012 Winning The Race Against Cancer The partnership of Dawson County Raceway and the Garden of Hope Relay For Life team is “Winning The Race Against Cancer” in 2012 with a grand total of $864.11 raised during a night at the Fathers Day race in Lexington. Raceway manager Allen Wissmann joined the Relay team recently to present a bonus donation from the evening’s fundraising activities. Together, we will BEAT cancer!.” The Relay will be Friday-Saturday, July 27-28, at Haymaker Stadium in Cozad. The public is invited to attend.

July 8, 2012 Berck Takes the Honors again at the Dawson County Raceway! The racing action was fast and furious as the Super Late Model Racing(SLMR) Series invaded the Dawson County Raceway in Lexington, Nebraska on Sunday night along with the thunder and lightning performance by the IMCA Modifieds, Northern Sport Mods, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks. Walking away a feature winner when the dust settled were Kyle Berck, David Murray Jr, Jesse Sobbing, Mike Nichols and Dillon Thompson.

June 17, 2012 Osborn, Frenier, Thompson, Nichols & Dembowski win at Dawson County Raceway! Dawson County Raceway in Lexington, Nebraska partnered up with the Relay for Life organization to ‘Race for a Cure’ on Sunday night at the 3/8 mile oval that put each and every fan in the stands on the edge of their seats in five IMCA racing divisions that competed. Taking their place in the winners circle was Feature race victors Jeremy Frenier, Mike Nichols, Colton Osborn, Dillon Thompson and David Dembowski.

June 10, 2012 Great Racing Action at the Dawson County Raceway ‘Where only the best go three abreast’ was the name of the game during an entertaining and fast-paced night of racing action at Dawson County Raceway in Lexington, Nebraska with Dave Pedersen, Mike Nichols, Jesse Sobbing, Dillon Thompson and Dalton Smith dialing up the checkered flag feature wins on Sunday.
The Brady, Nebraska Bullet Dave Pedersen started on the front row and was able to stay up front for the juncture of the IMCA Modified Feature to notch the victory. Pedersen led from lap 14, until the checkered flags were waved. David Murray Jr. of Oberlin, Kansas was heavy on the load pedal throughout the contest to make it into the top five, finishing third overall after starting in the fifth row. Murray had worked his way up to fourth place on lap eight, and would skip ahead through the corners to cross the line in second place during lap 17. With only Pederson left in front of him the 97m ran out of laps and settled for runner-up honors. Cozad hotfoot Steve Aitken led the initial 13 laps from his front row starting position. Aitken was able to get his car to fly around the DCR 3/8 mile dirt track and finishing fourth followed by Maxwell’s Charley Brown in fifth place overall. Murray and Chuck Stryker of Eddyville were the heat race winners in early oval action in Lexington.

June 3, 2012 Mros, Smith, Andreasen, Sobbing, Nichols & Murray Race into the Winners Circle The fans on the stands were on the edges of their seats as the racing action was as smoking hot as the weather at the Dawson County Raceway in Lexington, Nebraska on Sunday night. Winning the IMCA feature events on June 3rd were David Murray Jr, Mike Nichols, Jesse Sobbing, Tyler Andreasen and Dalton Smith. Picking up the win in the touring Nebraska Modified Lites Feature was Robert Mros.

March 1, 2012 2012 Dawson County Raceway ‘Where only the best go three abreast,’ will be a jam-packed racing dream for race enthusiasts and spectators, as the Dawson County Raceway in Lexington has unveiled their schedule for the upcoming 2012 campaign. If Mother Nature cooperates, DCR has twelve nights of racing action scheduled. The gates will open at 5 p.m. with racing action to start promptly at 6:30 p.m.
