Murray, Osborn, and Grueter Win Husker Classic at Dawson County Raceway
The first ever Husker Classic was run at Dawson County Raceway in Lexington on October 3rd and 4th. Drivers from three states came to run on the fast 3/8-mile oval to compete for the championship for three different classes. David Murray, Jr. of Oberlin, Kansas, Colton Osborn of Cozad, and Lonnie Grueter of Grand Island went home with the big trophies.

Dawson County Raceway Schedules IMCA Husker Classic October 3 - 4
Promoter Allen Wissmann recently announced the information for the Husker Classic October 3-4. The races are sanctioned by International Motor Contest Association, and will feature the IMCA Modified, IMCA Stock Car, and IMCA Hobby Stock classes. An open practice will be held on Friday night, October 2, from 7-9 PM.

Egge, Nichols, Bond Repeat at Dawson County Raceway, Husker Classic Announced
Championship night was a wild night at Dawson County Raceway. There was at least one car that rolled over in each of the three regular classes during the night, and you didn’t know if there was going to be a pileup at the end of every feature race. Bo Egge, Mike Nichols of Harlan, Iowa, and Kyle Bond of Gibbon rolled back into victory lane for a second straight week.

Johnson Wins On “Fire and Rain” Weekend at Dawson County Raceway
If there was a song that would sum up the August 16 races at Dawson County Raceway, it would be James Taylor’s “Fire and Rain.” The rain came down on Friday and Saturday nights, accumulating to nearly two inches. Promoter Allen Wissmann and crew worked hard to get the dirt track ready for Sunday night’s races, and much of the track was racey, but there still rough spots on the track and water holes in the bottom of the corners.

Dawson County Raceway Calls off August 9 Races
Dawson County Raceway in Lexington received at least 1.30 inches of rain on Sunday morning, forcing promoter Allen Wissmann to call off the August 9 races. The United Rebel Sprint Series and fan appreciation night, which were scheduled for August 9, will be scheduled for next Sunday night, August 16. The SportMods that were scheduled for August 16 will be moved to August 23. Admission prices for August 16 will be $12 for adults, $5 for children 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. Pit passes will be $25. The gates will open at 5 PM, and the races will start at 6:30 PM, Central Time.

Cruzan Goes For Sunday Cruise at Dawson County
Racing returned to Dawson County Raceway on August 2. Despite the many fair races in the area, a strong number of cars were on hand to put on a show. Chad Dolan of Gibbon, Mike Nichols of Harlan, Iowa, and Corey Cruzan of Maxwell were the drivers to take their cars to A Feature wins

Ursetta Sets The Pace at Dawson County Raceway
The Blood, Sweat, and Tears Modified series came to Dawson County Raceway on July 26th to compete with the area Modifieds and put on a show with the IMCA Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks. The drivers did their best at setting a furious pace throughout the night. At the end of the evening, Dominic Ursetta of Arvada, Colo., Mike Nichols of Harlan, Iowa, and Cody Blessing of Kearney were the drivers who set the pace towards victory.

Fair Races Fairly Wild at Dawson County Raceway
(Lexington, Nebr.--July 19) It was Dawson County fair time in Lexington to go along with races at Dawson County Raceway on July 19. The races were the final event of the week, and had more excitement than the demolition derby, more horsepower than the horseshow, and more hits than Sawyer Brown. David Murray of Oberlin, Kansas, Casey Werkmeister of Maywood, and Kyle Bond of Gibbon were the blue ribbon winners, as they took the A Feature wins.
